Television on Your agenda with a Digital Video Recorder (Dvr)

The introduction of the Vcr changed so much for the television viewer. Before the introduction of the Vcr, you had to watch the show when it was broadcast by the network - that was your only option. If you recorded your beloved show, you were able to watch it when you wanted to - and as many times as you wanted to. All you needed was a blank video tape and a Vcr. That has all changed with the Dvr.

A Dvr, or Digital Video Recorder, is technology that takes all the great features of a Vcr and places it in the digital age. Instead of manifold tapes, you have a particular hard drive. Instead of degrading tape ability issues, shows are now recorded digitally that can last forever. Instead of programming a Vcr through a complex interface of tiny buttons on a remote control, you can agenda your Dvr through a easy point and click interface, possibly even from your home computer.

Tivo Or Dvr

In increasing to the ability to watch your shows whenever you want to, there is other benefit to the Dvr that most citizen only mention quietly - the ability to quickly send through your commercials. With all being digital, a 30 second skip can be done with the click of a button. Dream getting back 10 minutes of your life back for every hour of television your watch!

Dvrs come in many shapes and sizes. There are set-top boxes that go right on your television set. They don't require any other products to work. Some brand names of these options contain Tivo and ReplayTv. Many satellite companies (and digital cable companies) such as Dish Network and Direct Tv have options as well. Microsoft Windows Media town is an choice for Windows users. There are also options for the Mac and/or Linux user.

Once you have a Dvr report your shows, you can watch them whenever you want. Some systems even let you transfer the article to a Dvd or your laptop.

The Digital Video Recorder (Dvr) changes all for the television viewer. I hope you can join the revolution.

The importance of Digital Marketing

In today's economy, it is easy to expound manufacture cutbacks. With so many associates hard up for cash, finding areas to cut corners seems like the right approach. Statistics show that when associates look to cut down costs, marketing and advertising are among the first to receive a smaller budget. This is not always the best plan of action. Becoming smarter about where you spend your marketing dollars is.

These days, consumers are flooded and inundated with marketing messages from the moment they wake up, until the moment they fall asleep. There are ads for beer, ads for cars, ads for gadgets and devices designed to make your life easier. But for the most part, all of this information goes in one ear and out the other. Don't get me wrong, marketing is productive and when it comes to decision time, the ads a viewer has been exposed to, often times, influences their decision, but the question lies in one small fact. Radio, television and print ads can all be targeted at exact demographics. For example, a print ad for a Bmw or Mercedes might do best in the Wall street Journal as opposed to Sports Illustrated. While this ad may effectively reach the intended target audience, it is not always hitting them at a time when they are manufacture a decision to buy a vehicle, therefore, losing some of its effectiveness.

Tivo Or Dvr

This is where digital marketing enters the equation. The facts are all around us - newspapers and print magazines are losing circulation numbers, more and more households have Tivo or a similar Dvr assistance that allows them to blow through television commercials, and the expanding popularity of Mp3 players and satellite radio has significantly decreased the popularity of the radio. The one advertising medium that has been gaining momentum over the past decade, however, has been the internet. The internet is an breathtaking chance to not only supply highly targeted advertising and brand impressions to your target audience, but you can do it at the most crucial time in the decision process - right before purchase.

The economy today is forcing every person to hunt around for the best deals they can find. Ordinarily these deals are found on the internet. Digital marketing helps your company increase its exposure to consumers who are actively seeking your stock or service, manufacture it much more productive than other forms of advertising. expanding your company's exposure through digital marketing is the equivalent of McDonald's only showing you a Big Mac industrial when you are hungry. It is targeted, effective, and relevant.

Don't cut back your company's marketing funds while this economy; instead, focus on spending your marketing dollars more effectively by investing in a highly targeted digital marketing campaign.

TiVo TCD649080 Series 2 80-Hour Dual Tuner Digital Video Recorder Overview

The world's first, best, and easiest-to-use digital video recorder just got better. Now, record two shows at once. Only the TiVo service gives you the freedom to watch your favorite shows any time, anywhere.

TiVo TCD649080 Series 2 80-Hour Dual Tuner Digital Video Recorder Specifications

The TiVo Series2 DT does something that only DirecTV TiVo users have enjoyed up till now--the ability to record two shows at once. This dual-tuner (DT) TiVo Series2 is the first standalone DVR that's optimized for households with cable television. Now, you'll never have to miss any of your favorite shows--even if they're on at the same time. It also offers the same entertainment services as other TiVo Series2 DVRs, including digital music, digital photos, remote scheduling, and hassle-free favorites recording. All this and the famed luxury of being able to pause and view instant replays of live television, too. TiVo DVRs record television programming directly to an onboard digital ATA/IDE hard drive, eliminating the hassles of videotape (imprecise tape searching, head cleaning, steadily degrading picture, fuzzy sound, etc.).

This TiVo Series2 DT model (TCD649080) offers an 80-hour recording capacity. It offers the ability to simultaneously record programming from two basic cable channels, or one basic cable channel and one digital cable channel. It also includes built-in Ethernet and USB ports, making it easier than ever to add the TiVo box to your home network. This enables you to take advantage of the TivoToGo feature, which allows you to transfer programs from the TiVo box to a Windows-based desktop or laptop PC so you can watch your favorite programs on the go or while others are watching live or recorded programing on the TV.

The Series2 has a USB port and an Ethernet connection, offering users with home networks the ability to stream photos and music to their TiVo, or send programs from one TiVo to another. This connectivity also lets TiVo subscribers access exciting entertainment services through the TiVo Home Media Features, which consists of the TiVo Digital Music Player, TiVo Digital Photo Viewer, and Multi-Room Viewing. The TiVo Digital Music Player lets you enjoy your computer's MP3 collection through your home entertainment sound system. Access and control your entire digital music collection via your TV; shuffle your music library by artist, album, or type of music; and create a custom playlist on your computer or use third-party software to develop playlists for every mood. The TiVo Digital Photo Viewer accesses digital photos stored on your computer and showcases them on your TV. View photo albums and slideshows on your TV screen, easily navigate, search, and view your computer's entire digital photo library, play and control slideshows of photo albums, and use the remote control to select and view individual photos.

TiVo's Series2 DVR allows users to view photos and listen to music stored on their computer or other peripheral device.

With the Multi-Room Viewing feature, users can pause live TV and resume viewing in another room.

Multi-Room Viewing is designed for households with two Series2 DVRs and allows you to record a show on one DVR and send it to another if your kids are watching in the living room, say, and you're watching in the bedroom. You can also start a program on one DVR and pick up where you left off on your other DVR, as well as access the Now Playing list of a connected Series2 DVR at any time. You can also find and schedule recordings even when you're away from home. With Online Scheduling, you'll have the freedom to schedule programs from anywhere you have a computer with an Internet connection. Just sign in to TiVo Central Online to access the same recording options you have at home. Broadband connected Series2 subscribers can also view both their own photo slideshows and those shared by friends with Yahoo! Photos, and check local weather and traffic from Yahoo!. Additionally, subscribers can browse and buy movie tickets from Fandango, discover new music on Live365, and listen to entertaining podcasts. The Series2 DVR is compatible with virtually every television available. It also works with VCRs, TV antennas, cable systems, and satellite systems. A patented universal remote control simplifies program recording and controls multiple TiVos within the home (2 devices can share your existing phone line). Connections include: 3 video inputs and outputs (S-video, composite-video, and RF coaxial), 1 set of stereo RCA analog audio inputs, and 2 sets of stereo audio outputs.

TiVo service requires a monthly subscription fee; see tivo.com for current rates. Other benefits of TiVo service include but are by no means limited to: Season Pass (TiVo automatically finds and records every episode of a series all season long, even if the network schedule changes), WishList (TiVo finds and records programs that feature your favorite actor, director, team, or even topic), Smart Recording (TiVo detects line-up changes for you and suggests programs to match your interests, if desired), and Showcases (exclusive entertainment plus recording shortcuts from some of the most popular networks on TV). You can even train TiVo to autorecord more shows you'll love when you use the Thumbs Up and Thumbs Down buttons on the supplied remote. Parental controls let you lock channels or set ratings limits based on content.

Wireless Video Transmitter - Watch Tv in any place in the House

If you want to watch video on a second Tv in a different room away from where your audio-visual equipments are regularly located, you may want to consider getting a wireless video transmitter. It is a two-component law consisting of a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver. To make it work, first connect the transmitter to a video source such as a cable Tv box and the receiver to the second Tv in, for example, the garage. When switched on, the transmitter sends continuous Tv signals over the air to the receiver. The receiver in turn feeds live Tv pictures to the second Tv in the garage. Now you can enjoy live Tv broadcasts in the carport as if you are sitting in the living room. These wireless signals can lanch walls and floors, meaning that the transmitter and receiver do not have to be within line of sight of one another.

The main advantages of using this kind of devices are convenience, flexibility and cost savings. It is favorable because you don't have to run long wires around the house to connect between the video source and the video display. It is flexible because the wireless receiver can be moved around easily, with no need to install new wires or re-route old ones. It saves money because you don't have to buy extra devices such as a second cable box or a second Dvd player in order to watch video in a second room.

Tivo Or Dvr

It is not just the cable Tv box to which the transmitter can be connected. Other video sources like Dvd players, Dvr or TiVo boxes, satellite boxes etc can also be connected. This way you can watch not only live Tv programs, but also Dvd films or pre-recorded Tv programs on your second Tv.

It can also be used to do audio transmissions. The wireless video transmitters commonly accept Rca cables as inputs. So in case, granted that the particular audio source has Rca outputs, it will be able to connect to the transmitter. Let us say you have a Pc with a sound card having Rca outputs and you connect it to a transmitter. If you then connect a set of speakers to the receiver placed somewhere else, you can listen to the Mp3 songs stored on the Pc without having to sit next to it.

The frequency of transmission is also an leading notice when purchasing a wireless video transmitter. Many of these units operate in the 2.4 Ghz band. The problem is that this greatly increases the likelihood of interference with other household devices. Microwave ovens, wi fi networks and many cordless phones operate in and around the neighborhood of 2.4 Ghz. It is quite base that switching on and using one of these devices will interfere with the doing of the others. Many devices have the capability to adopt channels for use and this can mitigate the interference qoute somewhat.

The good news is that there are transmitters that operate in the 5.8 Ghz band, away from the congested 2.4 Ghz band. These 5.8 Ghz units are thus much less likely to suffer from interference issues, given that most household electronic devices do not operate around 5.8 Ghz. Recently manufacturers have begun to introduce newer 5.8 Ghz cordless phones, so you do need to watch out for that in order to avoid inherent conflicts.

With this electronic gadget, you can watch Tv or listen to music everywhere in the house. It takes just minutes to set up, without involved installations and costly supplementary equipments.

Your Dvr tuner has to be able to receive and decode signals from your chosen supplier so there are separate types available depending on whether you use digital satellite Tv, cable or terrestrial Tv.

Some systems that furnish excellent pay for channels will insist that you use their own equipment to receive their programming and you may have to pay even more to use their Pvr or Dvr equipment

What does a Dvr do for you?

With a Dvr you can capture and narrative digital Tv programs onto a hard drive that's inside the unit. You can typically narrative up to about 40 hours of video onto the internal hard drive.

A Dvr makes it potential to narrative a live transmission while you are watching a recording and if you have a Dvr with two digital tuners then you can watch one channel while you are recording another or narrative 2 programs from separate channels while watching a recording made earlier.

Your Dvr will also pause live Tv if you want it to and restart it later. It turns live transmissions into recordings on the fly.
